Eve of Great Lent or Great Barekendan is celebrated on different days every year. According to the calendar of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the days prior to weekly fasts, as well as Great Lent, are called Barekendan.

On February 5, 2018, starting from the early hours the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan; and his delegation continued meetings in Batumi.

It has already become a beautiful tradition at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia to celebrate Bun Barekendan (or Eve of Great Lent) with a Harisa festival. And this year was no exception; however the festival became more diverse and large-scale.
