Requiem Service in the Saint Etchmiadzin Church in Tbilisi |
On March 5, 2016, on the occasion of Yerkrapah’s (Defenders of the Land) Day, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, presided over a service for the repose of the souls of Vazgen Sargsyan of blessed memory and Armenian volunteer groups, who died in the heroic battle for Armenia and Artsakh, in 1988-1994. Following the service, the Diocesan Primate conveyed his blessings to the young defenders of the land. On the day marking the birthday of Vazgen Sargsyan, the Bishop raised a prayer for peace in Armenia and Artsakh, asking God to bring the soldiers back home safely to their families. The Diocesan Primate relayed greetings from the chairman of RA Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, Lieutenant General Manvel Grigoryan, to the young men and the faithful. |
