Wreath Laid at the Memorial to the Victims of April 9 Tragedy on behalf of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia |
On April 9, 2016, the representatives of the Armenian community in Tbilisi paid tribute to anti-Soviet peaceful protestors tragically killed on April 9, 1989. A commemorative service was delivered near the cross-stone placed in the Saint Etchmiandzin Church courtyard in memory of the April 9 tragedy victims, with the participation of the representatives of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia headed by the clergymen of the Diocese, Rev. Father Narek Ghushyan and Rev. Father Ghevond Topashyan. The clergy prayed for the 21 innocent protestors who demanded restoration of Georgia’s Independence. Later, the delegation members prayed for souls of the victims and on behalf of the Diocese laid wreath at the memorial in front of the Parliament Building. |
