The International Black Sea University (IBSU) is a “multinational family”, attended by the students from 20 countries. Student life extends beyond the process of acquiring knowledge; it also includes sporting, cultural, leisure activities and the organization of national festivals based on ethnic and cultural characteristics.
On May 23, 2016, the International Black Sea University (IBSU) hosted the third cultural festival. Within the framework of the festival the university students of different ethnic and racial backgrounds presented the traditional costumes, special exhibition stands reflecting places of interest, as well as traditional cuisine.
There are 36 Armenian students studying at the IBSU. Armenian students of the university presented the “Armenian corner” at the festival. Well-decorated Armenian stand showed national musical instruments, carpets, paintings and dishes of traditional cuisine such as dolma, gata, shakar-lokum, jingalov hats (Lavash bread stuffed with herbs), sujuk, basturma, etc.

The Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia and the Youth Department helped the Armenian students of IBSU to duly represent the Armenian culture. Despite rainy weather the Armenian department, headed by the Center’s Director Levon Chidilyan, Michael Avagyan, Head of Legal Affairs and Cooperation Department,  and Coordinator of Student Activities, Nina Seropova, gave music and dance performances. The performances were welcomed warmly by the people present, while the traditional Armenian circle dance was recognized as one of the best performances of the festival.
Different games, competitions and a photo exhibition were organized in frames of the festival.
