On November 25, 2016, the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the “Hayartun” Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted a meeting with Saak Ovsepian, Doctor at the Helmholtz Zentrum München, Germany, and at the Technical University of Munich, Chair of Biological Imaging. At the invitation of Tbilisi State Medical University, Professor of the Dublin Neurological Institute delivered a lecture to students and lecturers entitled “Optical and Optoacoustic Brain Imaging” these days. Scientist Ovsepian had already delivered a lecture by the same name in Yerevan, at the invitation of Yerevan State Medical University. The son of the famous poet, late Victor Ovsepian, Saak Ovsepian took advantage of the opportunity and met with the Georgian-Armenian students of medical university and the Armenian community of Tbilisi and informed them of the latest scientific discoveries about brain function. Born in the village of Heshtia in Ninotsminda, the well-known Doctor and scientist also presented his brief biography and professional career, and urged the youth never yield to difficulties, to reach their goals through hard work and devoted service. The meeting was held in a question-and-answer format. Rev. Father Virap Ghazaryan, Pastor of the Saint Etchmiadzin Church in Avlabari, made closing remarks. Father Virap, in his appreciation and blessing remarks, expressed gratitude to the Armenian scientist living in Europe for the lecture and wished him success in his future endeavors. |
