On November 18, 2016, Merab Berdzenishvili International Cultural Center “Muse” in Tbilisi hosted a concert entitled “There is a unique charm about Tbilisi…”. The concert was implemented with the support of the Hayartun Center, under the sponsorship of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. The idea to organize the concert was introduced by a well-known collector, Alexander Piradov. The concert program included the city melodies and songs written for decades by people, born in Tbilisi, who thus expressed their love for the city. Famous pianists Anri Merabov and Irina Platonova, violinist Marianna Asrieva, singers Ninutsi Dediashvili, Marika Turashvili, Zhanna Simonyan shared their artistic gifts, performing selections by different composers. Levon Chidilyan recited Sayat-Nova’s poems to accompaniment on duduk and dhol. The concert was closed with the dance performed by the Jeyran Dance Ensemble (Choreographer: Svetlana Yeritsyan) and performance of the song written by Kakha Tsabadze and inspired by Anahit Bostanjyan’s poem “Old Tbilisi”. |
