On January 12, 2017, a large number of people gathered in Tbilisi State Drama Theatre after Petros Adamyan, where the body of famous poetess and translator Anahit Bostanjyan, who had died suddenly a few days ago, was brought. Her voice heard in the hall encouraged everyone to love the mother tongue and the Homeland, to be dedicated to strengthening of the friendship between nations. People came: Armenians, Georgians, and Russians, old and young – to express their grief and to leave floral tributes to the prematurely deceased poetess, who had chosen to live a creative lifestyle. The delegation of the Writers Union of Armenia, the delegation of Armenia’s Ministry of Diaspora, the delegation of the Georgian Writers Union, Armenian and Georgian writers, the NGO’s leaders and representatives, the delegations from different Georgian regions, members of the multinational society of Tbilisi came to bid a final farewell to the “Vrastan” Newsletter (“Georgia”) reporter; member of the Writers Union of Armenia; member of the Georgian Writers Union; member of the “Vernatun” Union of Armenian Writers of Georgia; the president of NGO “Kamurj” for the Armenian-Georgian Literary Relations; the Head of Armenian Department at the Union of Writers of Georgia; Georgian Medal of Honor recipient; the Movses Khorenatsi Medal bearer; member of the Hayartun Center (Armenian Diocese in Georgia) Council of Trustees - Ahanit Bostanjyan. The hall, where a mourning meeting took place, was crowded. The President of the “Vernatun” Armenian Writers’ Union of Georgia, Gevorg Snkhchyan presented a brief biography of the prematurely deceased poetess, presenting her past and extensive literary and social activities. The President of the Georgian Writer’s Union, Makvala Gonashvili; the Chairman of the Writers’ Union Of Armenia, Edvard Militonyan; RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzh Srapionyan; Armenian and Georgian writers, public figures delivered a farewell address. The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, conducted the funeral rite at the Tbilisi Pantheon of the Armenian Writers and Public Figures “Khojivank”, following which the poetess’s body was consigned to the earth. |
