On January 29, 2017, Akhalkalaki Youth Center hosted an event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Armenian Army. The center’s students of different ages and with different interests, as well as singer Alfon Kulagszyan from the village of Kartikam, participated in the event. The center’s teachers helped to organize the event, the program included musical, dance and theatrical performances, recitations. Words of encouragement, praise and comfort were coming from the mouths of children, filling with pride and enthusiasm. At the end of the event, the Director of the Youth Center, Artur Gabrielyan, conveyed his greetings to the attendees and participants. “I offer my congratulations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Armenian army. The Armenian nation, during its existence, many times, has had a powerful army, and despite their relatively small numbers, the troops almost always have succeeded. At present, we can proudly state that our Armed forces are powerful and established, and the Four-Day April War is the luminous testimony,” – noted Artur Gabrielyan. At the conclusion of the event, the attendees and participants exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the feast, patriotic songs were performed. On January 29, 2017, at the Surb Grigor Lusavorich Church (Saint Gregory the Illuminator) in Akhaltsikhe, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Armenian Army. During the Divine Liturgy, the celebrant, Rev. Fr. Torgom Vardanyan offered a sermon reflecting on the mystery of the day, he spoke about the establishment of the Armenian army and congratulated the faithful on the occasion of the Armed Forces day. Following the Divine Liturgy, Pastor of the Church, Rev. Fr. Hakob Sahakyan and Rev. Fr. Torgom Vardanyan conducted a service for the repose of the souls of the Armenian soldiers killed in military service. |
