The Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ presented by schoolchildren PDF Print E-mail

A1On April 15, 2018, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Rev. Father Manuk Zeynalyan on the occasion of the Sunday of the World Church (Green Sunday) in the Saint Etchmiadzin church in Tbilisi. After the Divine Liturgy a nice event dedicated to the Feast of the Glorious IMG 1666Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ took place in the church with the participation of the second grade students of N104 Armenian public school in Tbilisi (Director Irina Zhamkochyan).
The whole class was included in the festive celebration. Schoolchildren, dressed in beautiful Armenian national clothes, stood near the Holy Altar and after praying the Lord's Prayer they presented a nice montage, dedicated to the period from the Great Lent to the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
The schoolchildren, one by one, talked about the weeks of Great Lent and the mysteries of the Holy Week days. The work done by the teacher Nana Baghdasaryan deserves appreciation. Showing the meaning and content of the main Feast of Christian faith, they also demonstrated folk traditions and habits. They brought “Aklatiz” puppet which IMG 1678symbolizes the Great Lent. The “Aklatiz” puppet is made of onion and feathers, people hang it over the chimney of the house. The children told about the mystery of the feathers and pinned seven feathers in the onion.IMG 1684
As they came to the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the schoolchildren presented the mysteries of the painting eggs, cooking pilaf and fish and drinking wine.  
The event was concluded with blessings of Rev. Father Manuk Zeynalyan, spiritual superintendant of the “Hayartun” Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. The latter conveyed to attendees the fatherly blessings and warm love of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. He highly appreciated the organization of the event and the purpose of demonstration it in the church. Rev. Father valued the significance of bringing children closer to the church and upbringing them with faith. The spiritual superintendant expressed words of appreciation to the directorate of the school, in particular, Irina Zhamkochyan, who was present at the event, as well as teacher Nana Baghdasaryan and parents of the second - graders who supported the fulfillment of this wonderful event dedicated to the Easter Feast.
The event was accompanied by songs and music dedicated to the Easter Feast.
