In Tbilisi Charitable Activities to Help the Syrian Armenians Continue |
On February 9, 2013 with the support of Armenian community structures in Tbilisi and by the initiative of the “Hayartun” Cultural Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia the charity concert, dedicated to the St. Vardanants Day, took place in Tbilisi. Within the series of events to help the Armenians of Syria exhibition-sale of works of Armenian artists in Georgia and puppets from the Davtyans House Theater was organized, a coffee sale from "Jazve" was also arranged during the benefit concert. All profit will go to charity to help victims of war, the Armenians of Syria, and will be transferred to their bank account.
The Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan with clergy, the diplomatic staff of the embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia, representatives of Armenian community structures, intellectuals and public representatives attended the concert. Arto Tunçboyacıyan, an Armenian musician, a famous avant-garde folk artist, singer, multi-instrumentalist was the guest of honor at the charity concert. He arrived from Yerevan and appeared before the audience with his wonderful performance and patriotic speech. Anna Khanchalyan, Anna Pogosova, Nadya Zakharyan- Lutsenko, Ruben Voskanyan, Hovhannes Shakhnazaryan, Nina Karapetyan and Emma Pogosova - well-known vocalists, the winners and participants of various competitions performed one after the other before the audience. Dance ensembles "Jeyran" and the newly created "Mush" (choreographer Svetlana Yeritsyan), "Ani" (choreographer Angelina Nazarian-Kochyan) and "Vanq" (choreographer Liana Kashavanidze) - filled the hall with patriotic spirit of national dances. The children's and youth choir of the “Surp Nerses Shnorhali” (conductors - Mara Abulyan and Hovhannes Hambardzumyan) sang, which was a clear demonstration of the preservation and the development of art in the Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia. On the end of the event the Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan spoke about the St. Vardanants Day and called the Christian faith strong force, which inspired Armenian people to preserve their beliefs and homeland. The host of the evening, coordinator of the center and responsible for the cultural department at “Hayartun” Cultural Center Levon Chidilyan handed letters of gratitude to all participants of the charity concert and announced that the charity events to help the Armenians of Syria in the Armenian community of Georgia will continue. |
