Presentation of the Newly Established Armenian Center at the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia |
On the 20th of June, in Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the cultural, educational, and youth “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, at the initiative of the founders group, a presentation of the newly established organization “Armenian Center for Scientific Research in Georgia” was held. Poet and translator Givi Shakhnazari, Zezva Medulashvili, armenologists Irina Kobakhidze, Candidate of Philological Sciences Ramaz Gorgadze, Adviser to the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Georgia Levon Torgomyan,Armenian and Georgian intellectuals, representatives of the different branches of science attended the presentation. The coordinator and artistic director of the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia Levon Chidilyan opened the presentation, he read out RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Vahe Jilavyan’s congratulatory message in connection with the establishment of “Armenian Center for Scientific Research in Georgia”. The founder of the newly established organization, director Emma Akhtyan presented the members of the initiative and founders group and familiarized with the aims and objectives of the organization. She emphasized the task to concentrate and coordinate the Armenian scientific thought, and bring up a new generation of scientists, and the new organization will direct its activities to solution of these problems. After that a member of initiator group Gisane Hovsepyan presented to the audience the project to have their own magazine, mission of which will be the publication of scientific articles and the latest research materials related to literature, history, and church. All speakers welcomed the creation of the organization “Armenian Center for Scientific Research in Georgia” and spoke about the necessity of this structure existence. The Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan blesses the participants of the presentation, he estimated the center for scientific research as a structure, which will contribute to the return of Armenian Churches n Georgia to the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, the deepening of the Armenian-Georgian friendship in terms of the development of the Armenian scientific thought. Songs, dances and music, beautifully performed by teacher Roza Zohrabian, pianist Yesai Abovyan and student Anna Mikaelian, accompanied the presentation. |
