Ruben Voskanyan Bids Farewell to His Audience PDF Print E-mail

Only one year has passed since Ruben Voskanyan entered the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia. However, in this short span of time, he actively participated in the work of the center and the Diocese, became an active participant of all initiated events. The Armenian Church and the center became his home and favorite place.

The inborn voice, correct and brilliant performance of folk and gusan songs quickly made Ruben a famous, loved and sought-after singer. “Hayots mayrer”, “Ov, Karmir Vardan” and other songs in his performance the audience of Tbilisi Armenians met with admiration. The warm welcome and thundering applause that accompanied Ruben’s songs were the evidence of this.

And then the day to say good-bye came. Ruben Voskanyan leaves for the United States of America for a permanent residence...

On the 23rd of June, in Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the "Hayartun" Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, Ruben Voskanyan farewell concert took place. It was organized by the youth group of the center under the leadership of Hovhannes Shakhnazaryan.

The hall was full of Ruben’s acquaintances, fans of his songs, friends, and loved ones, who had come once again to enjoy Ruben Voskanyan’s live performance.

Levon Chidilyan, the coordinator of the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, opened the concert after Our Father Prayer. He greatly appreciated the initiative of the youth group of the center and all solo performers to bid their beloved friend farewell.

The Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan blessed the audience; he stressed the brilliant performance of gusan songs by Ruben Voskanyan, which are special in their own way. Bishop distinguished Ruben as a wonderful person loved by everyone, and expressed confidence that Ruben would become the ambassador of Georgian Armenians overseas. The Head of the Diocese presented him the painting of Tbilisi by Tbilisi Armenian artist Tengiz Mikoyants, which would always remind him of Tbilisi Armenians.

Wonderful speech of the event host Liza Torosyan was combined with dance and songs by solo artists. Ruben Voskanyan performance was especially touching. Ruben Voskanyan bid farewell to his audience, taking with him their love and good wishes.
