The Concert of Armenian-Georgian Friendship in Batumi |
In Batumi Arts Center, within the framework of the program “Folklore Summer-2013”, concert series were held, in which music and dance groups from different cities of Armenia and Georgia took part. Armenia was represented by “Vahagn” dhol players’ ensemble from Yerevan, “Haykakan Zardankhsher” from Gyumri, dance ensemble “Ani” from Vanadzor, students of Abovyan Music College of Pop and Jazz. They presented to the audience Armenian folk songs and dances. The Armenians of community composed the majority of the audience. The spiritual shepherd of Adjara Armenians and Surb Prkich Church in Batumi Priest Ararat Gumbalyan opened the concert, he greeting the audience and stressed the importance of such joint events, and that they reaffirm the centuries-old friendship between the Armenian and Georgian people, he also thanked the organizers. Representatives from Armenia, in turn, noted the support of the Armenian Church in this program. |
