On the 2^nd of September the solemn closing ceremony of the yard camp functioning at Surb Khach Church took place.

The yard camp in Akhalkalaki was functioning with the blessing and direct support of the Vicar-General of Javakhk Supreme Archimandrite Babken Salbiyan. For the whole month the Vicariate had gathered in bosom of Surb Khach Church the children, who for various reasons could not spend summer holidays outside of Javakheti.

The camp group leaders introduced children to the ancient history of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Armenian people, the guys for a whole month had the opportunity to learn prayers and the rules of communication with the clergy. This year nearly 100 children lived by the rules of the camp: they started their morning at Surb Khach Church with a prayer together with the clergyman, after that they received good advice and teachings from the priest.
In order to get better acquainted with the rich culture of highland Javakheti, pilgrimages to various holy sites had been organized within the framework of the yard camp. The hike to Akhalkalaki fortress filled the hearts of the children with joy, there they learned the history of the fortress, saw the ancient towers, traces of the old church and much more. During one month the church delivered joy and laughter and filled the souls of children with faith and hope.
Vicar-General of Javakhk Supreme Archimandrite Babken Salbiyan blessed everyone and after a joint prayer the closing ceremony of the yard camp was marked. Vicar-General of Javakhk highlighted the huge patriotic work conducted by group leaders in the yard camp and expressed hope that the camping would be continued in the future.

The children with great enthusiasm and joy demonstrated everything they had learned during one month. Armenian words and patriotic song sounded from the lips of children, and Our Father Prayer completed everything.

At the end of the celebration on behalf the Vicariate of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Samtskhe- Javakheti the children received presents.
