The Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia Took Part in the Consecration Ceremony of New Cathedral of the Holy Transfiguration of Our Lord Church in Moscow |
On the 17th of September His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians presided over the consecration ceremony of a new Cathedral church in the Novo-Nakhichevan and Russian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, and over the opening ceremony of the Church complex. The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, the President of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Saakyan, sponsors of Church complex construction attended this historical event in the life of the Novo-Nakhichevan and Russian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Thereby the Primates of the Dioceses from the Dioceses of the Armenian Church all over the world and benefactors of the Armenian people, the members of the Supreme Spiritual Council, RA public officials, representatives of science and education, prominent cultural figures, the Russian Federation and Moscow city power officials arrived to Moscow. The Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan also took part in the consecration ceremony. Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill in the company of the clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church also took part in the ceremony. The solemn ceremony started with the solemn procession, accompanied by religious hymn “Khorurd khorin” (Profound mystery) the Catholicos of All Armenians in the company of bishops, celibacy of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the clergy of the Diocese headed towards a new holy temple. The Supreme Patriarch blessed the large audience and ascended to the altar, where the ceremony of beautiful cathedral consecration began.
