On May 4, 2014 the “Hayartun” Cultural, Educational and Youth Center organized a pilgrimage to the Armenian medieval monasteries located in the Lori region of the Republic of Armenia. There were Armenian, Georgian, Russian, Ukrainian, and Kazakh pilgrims taking part in the pilgrimage. In all, 130 people from ages 6 to 70 years participated in the pilgrimage.

The clergy of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia Priest Narek Ghushchyan, Deacon Gevorg Antonyan, responsible for different departments at the Diocese Levon Isakhanyan, Valery Badalyan, Isayi Abovyan, Innesa Sarukhanyan and Gevorg Poghosov accompanied the pilgrims.

The pilgrimage, together with spiritual food, aimed to familiarize pilgrims with the Armenian cultural heritage and landmarks. It should be mentioned that Monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin are under UNESCO protection.
