Lectures Throw Light on Historical Events |
It’s exciting when the history of your nation is studied by other nations, becomes the primary source for the research and attracts history scholars who wish to discover more. On September 11, 2015, the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the “Hayartun” Center hosted the researcher from the “Aniv” Foundation on the Research and Development of Armenological Studies (Minsk, Belarus), Eugeniy Gurinov. The researcher read a lecture on “Armenians and Crusaders in the XII Century”, presenting the details of the participation of Armenians to the crusades, their role, status, and success and failure stories. The young researcher precisely described the epoch, the role of the religion and especially the dominating role of the Christianity in forming the way of thinking. Later the researcher responded to questions asked by the audience. Many people were interested in his personal reasons to study the history of Armenia and to learn Armenian language. Historian Enok Tadevosyan thanked the researcher for the interesting lecture and highlighted that the description of the historical events was very accurate.
