Delegation of Etchmiadzin City Hall Two-Day Visit to Tbilisi |
On October 13-14, 2015, delegation of Etchmiadzin City Hall, Republic of Armenia, headed by the Mayor of Etchmiadzin, Karen Grigoryan, took an official visit to Tbilisi. High-ranking guests arrived to attend the opening of an exhibition entitled “Artists of Saint Etchmiadzin in Tbilisi”, which was dedicated to the Tbilisi City Festival - Tbilisoba. It was initiated by the “Hayartun” Center with the support of the residence of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. The Mayor of Etchmiadzin, Karen Grigoryan, and the Deputy-Mayor of Etchmiadzin, Norik Mirzakhanyan, receiving the blessing of the Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of All Georgia, at the invitation of the Mayor of Mtskheta, participated on October 14 in Mtskhetoba Svetitskhovloba annual festival in the spiritual centre of Georgia. The Mayor of Mtskheta, Avtandil Nemsitsveridze hosted the members of the spiritual center of Armenia delegation. During a conversation the Mayors of two cities discussed ways to deepen relationships and prospects of cooperation between spiritual centers of two nations. In the framework of the visit to Tbilisi, the members of delegation of Etchmiadzin City Hall visited the apartment of Hovhannes Tumanyan and got informed about the existing state of affairs. Later the guests went to the residence of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia and the reconstructed Surb Gevorg Church, where the consecration service is going to be held soon. The members of delegation of the City Hall paid a visit to the Tbilisi Pantheon of the Armenian Writers and Public Figures “Khojivank” and laid flowers at the gravestones of prominent figures. In the evening, October 14, the venerable guests attended the opening of the “Artists of Saint Etchmiadzin in Tbilisi” Exhibition, which took place at the “Hayartun” Center. Mayor Karen Grigoryan greeted guests and exhibitors with the exhibition start in Tbilisi, which was dedicated to the cultural convergence between two nations. The Mayor expressed his readiness to organize an exhibition of artists of spiritual center of Georgia in Etchmiadzin. |
