The Alexander Mantashev Cultural Center in Batumi Hosted the Literary Matinee Dedicated to Hovhannes Tumanyan |
On May 22, 2016, the Alexander Mantashev Educational Cultural Youth Center had been given a festive look. An event commemorating Hovhannes Tumanyan was organized through a joint effort of the local creative groups. The Aghbyur Youth Vocal Ensemble headed by Ruzanna Hovhannisyan and the Heghnar Dance Group, choreographer Merine Poghosyan, were involved in the event organized by Satenik Danielyan, a teacher at a drama circle and recitation classes. Hovhannes Tumanyan’s quatrains and fables, extracts from the opera “Anoush” by Armen Tigranyan were presented in a theatrical manner with artistic performances. It is worth mentioning that a festive enthusiasm seized upon all present, both young and old, the matinee participants and attendees. It had only one purpose - to pass on always contemporary, deeply philosophical and euphonious works of the national poet of Armenia to future generations. At the end of the matinee, the Director of the Alexander Mantashev Cultural Center, Sona Hovhannisyan extended words of appreciation to the hard work and dedication of event organizers, who give the children an Armenian upbringing. The Head of the Center highly appreciated the diligence in all students of the Center, and expressed her gratitude to the parents for implanting Armenian spirit in their children. Rev. Father Ararat Gumbalyan, Pastor of Armenian community in Adjara, Guria and Imereti of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, offered his appreciation and blessing remarks. Father Ararat transmitted to the people present the blessing and love from the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. The Rev.Father highlighted the visible progress made by the students of the Center’s creative groups. The event commemorating Hovhannes Tumanyan marked a turning point in the Alexander Mantashev Cultural Center’s history. |
