The premiere of the People's Theatre dedicated to Hovhannes Tumanyan's 150th anniversary PDF Print E-mail

AOn April 3, 2019, the premiere of "Life's a Party" play performed by people's theatre of Alexander Mantashev Center in Batumi (Armenian Diocese in Georgia) took place at the Batumi Music Theatre Hall. The hall was crowded. There were not only Armenians from Batumi, but also Armenians from Chakvi and Ozurgeti. 1
The honorary guests of the event were the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in Batumi Yeghishe Sargsyan, as well as Rev. Father Maghakia Amiryan, the Prelate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka's General Prelacy of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia; Rev. Father Ararat Gumbalyan, the Pastor of Armenians in Adjara, Guria, Imereti and the Saint Savior (Surb Prkich) church in Batumi.
Under the leadership of Armenian language teacher Satenik Danielyan and with the participation of volunteers, the Center dedicated the play based on Tumanyan's "Life's a Party" 2fairytale to the 150th anniversary of Hovhannes Tumanyan. 13 amateur actors with various professions, including five musicians, two sportsman, craftsman and public members from different fields were involved in the performance. They participated in the play with great devotion and enthusiasm, and with their rich imagination, beautiful and proper play they received honor to perform this play at the theatrical stage.  
The impression was stronger than expected. The performance of the great writer's fairytale was accompanied by thunderous ovation by the audience which expressed their great enthusiasm and satisfaction.
Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in Batumi Yeghishe 3Sargsyan and the Pastor of Armenians in Adjara Rev. Father Ararat Gumbalyan highly appreciated the play. The speakers thanked the organizers, the Mantashev Center, Armenian community in Batumi, highlighting the role of theatre in the formation of society and its importance in the unity of Armenians in Batumi.
The event was concluded by the Primate of the Armenian Diocesan Georgia. The Diocesan Primate conveyed fatherly blessings and warm wishes of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians to Armenians in Adjara, highly appreciated their devotion to the Armenian Holy 4Church.  
His Grace Bishop Vazgen touched upon activity of Al. Mantashev Center, which with its preschool, Sunday school and classes became a national center for local Armenians. He also valued the establishment of people's theatre, which certainly will become a new impetus for consolidation of Armenians in Batumi around the Armenian Church.
The Diocesan Primate offered his blessings to the head of the Center Sona Hovhannisyan ans Pastor Rev. father Ararat Gmbalyan and appreciated the work done by them, their devotion service and proper organization of activity. His 5Grace offered his blessings to the teachers of the Center and the staff of newly established theatre, congratulated Satneik Danielyan on the occasion of the great work done by her for implementation beautiful events for Armenians in Batumi. The Diocesan Primate handed over to Satenik Danielyan a certificate by the Armenian Diocese.
Decades ago, Armenian State Drama Theatre was operating which was keeping the values and traditions of Armenian theatre among Armenians in Batumi. The love for theatre inspired the teacher Danielyan and Rev. Father Ararat Gumbalyan to initiate the establishment of the people's theatre which is very interesting and lovely for the Armenians in Batumi.
