Class of Duduk at the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia Was Opened |
On 17 May, 2013 at the Educational and Cultural Center “Hayartun” a solemn opening ceremony of class of duduk took place. Students, parents, spiritual fathers of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, employees of the Educational and Cultural Center “Hayartun” attended the presentation. Spiritual shepherd of Surb Etchmiadzin Church Samvel Torosyan started the presentation with Our Father Prayer and good wishes to the audience. The coordinator of the “Hayartun” Center at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia Levon Chidilyan reminded the audience of the importance of duduk – the Armenian musical instrument, which occupies a significant place in the national culture development of the Armenian people. He recalled duduk player Levon Madoyan and mentioned the world famous Djivan Gasparyan. Expressing gratitude to the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia and RA Ministry of Diaspora, the director of the center said that the classroom is equipped with musical instruments - duduk, zurna and dhol. After that duduk player Vano Mkrtchyan, who gladly assumed the duties to conduct classes of duduk, performed in front of the audience. Responsible for the Press service of the Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia Susanna Khachaturian reminded the audience of the famous Armenian duduk player in Tbilisi, deceased Ogos (Hovhannes Kasyan), who being appreciated as the professional performer was invited to teach in class of duduk at V.Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatory. Moreover, from September the dhol classes will also start at the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia. |
