Mamikon Nahapetov Played for the Armenian Community in Tbilisi |
On October 11, with the support of the “Hayartun” Center at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia and with financial support from RA Ministry of Culture, Mamikon Nahapetov’s concert of piano music took place in small hall of V.Sarajishvili Tbilisi state conservatory, who is the native of Tbilisi and at present resides and works in Germany. This concert opened the series of celebrations dedicated to the Armenian Church Feast of the Holy Translators. Mamikon Nahapetov had long dreamed to perform a professional concert in front of his compatriots, the Armenian community of Tbilisi, those who believed in his abilities and hard work, supported and encouraged him, and became the admirers of his performing skills. The hall was crowded, the Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanian, conservatory students and professors, experts in the field of music and the representatives of Tbilisi Armenian community attended the concert. The unique movements of the fingers on the piano keys played the immortal works of Aram Khachaturian, Schumann, Bach / Busoni, Gabunia, Brahms, Stravinsky / Agost. The young talented pianist bowed before the Head of the Diocese and dedicated brilliant performance of “Ekspromt” by Arno Babajanyan to the Feast of the Holy Translators. Chairman of the Union of Armenian Painters of Georgia Meruzhan Shahumyan presented Mamikon Nahapetov his miniature painting as a memento of this unforgettable and wonderful evening.
