Ethnographer Gagik Ginosyan visited the “Hayartun” Center at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia |
On April 27, the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the “Hayartun” Center at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, at the initiative and invitation of the сenter, hosted a meeting with public figure, choreographer, Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Armenia, Gagik Ginosyan. The members of “Taron” Youth Folk Dance Group (Choreographer Narine Ghushchyan), Armenian intellectuals and art lovers of Tbilisi attended the meeting. Levon Chidilyan, coordinator of the “Hayartun” Center at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, opened the meeting. He presented the famous public figure and thanked him for accepting the invitation, after that the floor was given to Mr. Ginosyan. The famous Armenian ethnographer spoke about the Armenian culture, national values, the peculiarities of folk songs and dances, sprinkling his speech with sayings of eminent public figures and interesting quotes. Touching upon the nuances of folk dances, body and soul harmony, the choreographer emphasized the importance of appreciation of meaning of each dance and of having dance technique. In his statement Gagik Ginosyan highlighted the supporting pillars of the nation, such as the spiritual, language and culture, while the national culture described as the basis of education in Armenian spirit. The Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Armenia answered the questions of the audience. Later the famous choreographer gave a master class to the members of “Taron” Youth Folk Dance Group of the “Hayartun” Center.
