Folk dances and music were performed in Batumi |
On May 11, 2014 the Sasun Folk Song and Dance Group of the State Engineering University of Armenia, at the invitation of spiritual shepherd of Armenians in Adjara, Priest Ararat Gumbalyan, visited Surb Prkich Church in Batumi. After the Divine and Immortal Liturgy the group members live performance of Armenian national songs and dances took place next to Surb Prkich Church. The local Armenian community greatly enjoyed the concert in the open air, cheers and applause greeted the young performers. This concert once again helped to familiarize with national songs and dances, motherland and historical roots. Father Ararat handed the certificate of gratitude to the artistic director of the Sasun Folk Song and Dance Group, Deacon Andranik Manukyan and to Professor of Cultural Studies Anahit Khechumyan.
