Commemorative Service in the Churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia |
On January 18th, 2015 the Commemorative ceremony was held in memory of the assassinated six members of Avetisyan family. It was delivered by the leader of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia,His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan,at the end of the Sunday Divine Liturgy in Tbilisi St Echmiadzin Church. The leader of the diocese called uponeveryone to pray together for the loss of the children of the nation, to demonstrate the power of awakening and strong will. The leader of the diocese condemned the atrocious murder of Avetisyan family and advisedthe people in charge to heed the lawful request of Gyumri residents. His Grace encouraged to maintain Armenian-Russian deep friendship and to keep being friends with Georgian people at our ancestors’ behest, who shared our grief these days. Bishop Vazgen conveyed condolences on behalf of all Armenians in Georgia to the relatives of Avetisyan family and to the residents of Gyumri. He also expressed his brotherly love to the primate of the Diocese of Shirak, His Grace Bishop Mikael Ajapahian. His Grace encouraged confronting grief together with dignity. The believers prayed to God for healing of little Seryozha. Best doctors from Armenia, Russia and other countries fight for his survival. Everyone lighted their candles, burned incense and prayed for the peace of souls of the victims. The commemorative ceremony was attended by the diplomats from the RA Embassy in Georgia, Armenian intellectuals of Georgia and community officials.
