Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia Attends Yezidi’s Spiritual and Cultural Center Opening |
On June 16, 2015, at the invitation of Yezidi community in Georgia, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan and the Director of Cooperation Department, Mikael Avagyan participated at the opening of the new Yezidi spiritual and cultural center. The Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality of Georgia, Mr. Paata Zakareishvili, the President of the Agency of Religious Affairs of Georgia, Mr. Zaza Vashakmadze The President of the Agency of Religious Affairs of Georgia, Mr. Zaza Vashakmadze congratulated the people present on the opening of the Yezidi spiritual and cultural center. He noted that “All religious and ethnic minorities are the part of Georgia. Yezidis have lived together with the Georgian people for many centuries, helping to overcome the challenges and working for the prosperity of the country. Today the protection of the rights of minorities and assistance to the development of their religious life is the main government policy. As a result of that assistance this event was held and the guests were invited from Iraqi Kurdistan. The delegation of the Yezidi community from Armenia also participated at the opening. |
