Saint Movses Khorenatsi Preschool Opens Its Doors to Children |
The 2015/16 academic year started in the “Saint Movses Khorenatsi” Preschool of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia on September 8, 2015. From the morning, a festive mood and liveliness prevailed in the Saint Etchmiadzin Church courtyard, where around 50 Armenian children gathered with their parents holding colorful flowers in their hands to participate in the Morning Services and to receive the blessings from the Primate of the Armenian Diocese. After the Moring Services, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan congratulated the children on the beginning of the new academic year and wished them health and luck. His Grace also wished that the children’s day in the Preschool would start with a participation in the Morning Services and with receiving the Lord’s blessings like in the past years. The Primate thanked the parents who bring their children from the city’s different districts to this preschool in order to give them Armenian education. His Grace recalled the activity of the Preschool for the last five years and expressed his gratitude to the teaching staff, especially to Eugenia Markosyan, whose conducted work he named “mission with love”. After the Lord’s Prayer the children headed to the “Hayartun” Center in order to enter their classrooms decorated with balloons, flowers and various toys. The first day in the Preschool started with the cry of the newcomers, the joy of the elders of meeting their friends and with interesting games. The “Saint Movses Khorenatsi” Preschool was founded on the initiative of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. It aims at providing the Armenian education and preserving the Armenian identity. This year the preschool had 20 newcomers. The Director of the “Hayartun” Center, Levon Chidilyan proudly mentioned that during the last years the Preschool led more than 40 children to different Armenian schools, where they were distinguished by their high level of preparedness. The Preschool started its work with its schedule and the staff including new teachers. It is worth mentioning that besides the development games; the children also learn songs and dances, painting, as well as doing handcrafts. And the students of the senior group are taught basic arithmetic, literacy in Armenian and Georgian and receive spiritual education. The admissions will continue until the end of September. |
