Bell and Crosses of the Church and Belfry Are Consecrated |
On September 12, 2015, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan consecrated the bell and the crosses of the Surb Khach Church and the belfry in the Mets Aragyal village, Ninotsminda region. Th newly-appointed spiritual shepherd of the Marneuli region, Archimandrite Ter Khoren Hovhannisyan and the spiritual shepherd of the Ninotsminda region, Rev. Fr. Ter Armash Poghosyan took part in the event. At the beginning of the ceremony, His Grace together with the Fathers consecrated the crosses and the bell by water and wine and then annointed them with the sacred chrism. After the ceremony, the crosses were placed on the cupolas of the church and belfry. Then the bell was hung. The benefactors Arthur and Aida Isoyans were afforded the honor of ringing the bell for the first time. The people who gathered in the church courtyard were very excited to see the ceremony. Among the guests were the Head of the Cultural Department of Ninotsminda and the President of the “Vernatun” Armenian Writers’ Union, Gevorg Snkhchyan, the member of the Board of Trustees, Aram Sanosyan and others. The consecration of the marble cross-stone placed in memory of the Armenian Genocide victims was also conducted. After the ceremonies, the Isoyan family offered the Matagh (Thanksgiving Animal Sacrifice). The renovation the Surb Khach Church (Saint Cross) will be completed soon. The ceremony of the re-consecration of the church will take place on October 13. |
