On February 25, 2014 at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia a meeting of the Council of Religious Community Leaders under the chairmanship of the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan was held. The Head of the Roman Catholic Church in Georgia, His Eminence Bishop Giuseppe Pasotto, the Head of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Georgia, His Eminence Bishop Hans-Joachim Kiderlen, the President of the Evangelical Baptist Church in Georgia, His Eminence Bishop Merab Gaprindashvili and the Bishop of the Evangelical Baptist Church in Georgia, His Eminence Malkhaz Songulashvili attended the meeting.

The issues concerning arrangement of compensation for damages, caused to the religious communities in the Soviet Period, as well as State Agency on Religious Issues were discussed at the meeting.

The religious leaders made a decision to address Georgia’s Prime Minister with recommendations, regarding the person, who would supervise that agency, as well as to address Georgian authorities with a request to consider the possibility of proportional allocation of funds for religious organizations, which had suffered a loss, taking into account the principle of proportionality.
