On April 7, on the Feast of the Annunciation to St. Mary, at the initiative and with the Vicar-General of Javakhk Supreme Archimandrite Babken Salbiyan’s blessing, in all operating churches of Javakheti the Divine and Immortal Liturgy was celebrated. Priest Tatev Marukyan conducted the festive divine service in Surb Khach Church of Akhalkalaki.

On April 7, a day of “Blessing of Motherhood and Beauty” the Vicariate of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Samtskhe-Javakheti sprang a surprise on mothers and women employed at maternity home of Akhalkalaki regional hospital. Priest Tatev Marukyan personally congratulated the women in labor and the doctors; he gave them roses and presented a gift - the Children's Bible.

Priest Tatev Marukyan highly appreciated the work performed by the maternity home employees, noting “… the life starts here and you are among those who faithfully carry out their mission.”

This unexpected small gesture of love and attention from the Armenian Apostolic Church filled everyone’s heart with joy and happiness.

At the end of the day the residence of the Vicariate in Javakheti hosted an event featuring the Sunday school students, who praised Armenian mothers. Almost 80 Sunday school students, led by headmistress Zarhuhi Barbaryan, organized an extraordinary event for their mothers.

Every year on the 7^th of April the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church celebrates one of her greatest feasts - the Annunciation to St. Mary. Upon the Pontifical order of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the Feast of the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary is proclaimed as a day of “Blessing of Motherhood and Beauty”.
