On April 19, 2015, a cross-stone in memory of the Armenian Genocide victims was placed in Ekhtila village, Javakheti.

On this historic day, villagers gathered to witness the consecration of the cross-stone conducted by Archimandrite Ter-Babken Salbiyan, Prelate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka’s General Prelacy, together with Father Ter Tadeos Mkrtchyan from Ekhtila village. The placing of the cross-stone became possible thanks to the sponsorship of the Demurchian brothers.

The Prelate of Javakheti noted with appreciation their [brothers’] patriotic activity. “This cross-stone is going to look after us from above. Remarkably, it is placed on the threshold of the 100^th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide”, he mentioned.

Many high-ranking guests, public figures, artists and teachers from Armenia and Georgia attended the event.
