Commemorative Services in Memory of the WWII and the Artsakh Liberation War Victims PDF Print E-mail

On May 8, 2015, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, with the participation of the clergy and the diocese’s officials, delivered a commemorative Service for the Peace of Souls for the World War II and the Artsakh Liberation War victims in the Tbilisi Saint Etchmiadzin Church.

Military Issues Attaché of the RA Embassy in Georgia, Gari Muradyan, counselor from the RA Embassy in Georgia, Karen Melikyan and retired teacher of initial military training, Kazbeg Khachatryan attended the ceremony.

At the end of the service, His Grace prayed for the martyrs of the World War II, who sacrificed their lives to protect their homeland and for the heroes of the Artsakh Liberation War.

In Batumi, after the commemorative service, Father Ter Ararat Gumbalyan from the Saint Savior Church together with the community officials and the RA Consul General in Adjara, Guria and Imereti, Mr. Aram Grigoryan, visited war veterans and handed out gifts to honor them.

On Erkrapah Fatherland Defender’s Day, commemorative services in memory of the WWII and the Artsakh Liberation War victims were delivered in the Diocese’s churches of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli.
