In 1981 the UN General Assembly launched an initiative to involve youth representatives from member countries in the official delegations. This project is successfully conducted in more than 30 countries, including Georgia. The country joined this initiative in 2012. The delegate selected through the competition is going to represent Georgian youth at the Headquarters of the United Nations in New-York City, USA. The competition is open for any interested active young citizen from 18 to 25 years with high academic achievements. The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia conduct the competition, which consists of three stages: - On the first stage, applicants are assessed on the basis of eligibility of submitted documents; - On the second stage, selected candidates from the first level are interviewed by the commission members.
