On 9 May at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia the celebrations, dedicated to the Ascension of Jesus, the victory in the Second World War and the liberation of Shushi, had started.
On 9 May, 2013 the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church celebrated the Ascension of Jesus. That day after the morning service at Surb Etchmiadzin Church in Tbilisi the Divine Liturgy was conducted, during which the priest, conducting the service, the spiritual shepherd of Surb Etchmiadzin Church Samvel Torosyan in his sermon spoke about the holiday.

On 5 May, 2013 the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall at the “Hayartun” Cultural Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia hosted a creative evening of the famous painter and great master of the portrait Giovanni Vepkhvadze. Paintings of the famous artist are long-familiar to art lovers of Armenian society in Tbilisi. He frequently presented his works at the exhibitions covering various themes, organized in the Armenian house of culture in Georgia. This time the artist Vepkhadze presented to the Armenian audience not only his portraits, but the second book of short stories as well.

Celebration of the 170th anniversary of the birth of the great Armenian philanthropist Michael Aramyants started in Artsakh, in the birthplace of philanthropist, continued in Yerevan and ended in Tbilisi, the main place of his activities, an honorary citizen of which was the benefactor. On May 4 – the benefactors’ birthday, in Surb Etchmiadzin Church in Tbilisi a commemorative ceremony was held. After that at the “Hayartun” Cultural Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church a memorial evening took place, where a photo exhibition telling about the life and work of Michael Aramyants was presented.

On 4 May, 2013 at the “Hayartun” Cultural Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia a meeting with David Darchiashvili, a member of the “United National Movement” parliamentary faction, Deputy Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Security, a member of Parliamentary Committee for European Integration, was held. The Adviser to the Head of the Diocese and the Head of the Diocesan Legal Department Levon Isakhanyan opened the meeting and informed that the theme of the meeting would be the current political situation in Georgia and it would be held in a presentation followed by questions-and-answers session format.

On April 26, 2013 at Surb Etchmiadzin Church in Tbilisi, in the framework of events preceding the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, memorial evening entitled “The Incurable Wound” was held. The event, dedicated to the 98th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, was initiated by Tbilisi Public School № 103, headed by a teacher of Armenian language and literature Gayane Mkhitaryan. The 3rd-9th grade students of the Armenian department of the educational institution took part in the memorial evening. It was symbolic that the God's House – Surb Etchmiadzin Church- was chosen the venue of the memorial evening of the Armenian Genocide victims. Spiritual fathers of the Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, the coordinator of the “Hayartun” Cultural Center, teachers of the Public School № 103, parents and believers attended the event.
