The Armenian Diocese in Georgia has celebrated the first major feast of 2016, the Feast of Nativity and Theophany of Our Lord Jesus Christ. On the evening of January 5th, a Candlelight Divine Liturgy was held in all the churches of the Diocese. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the Armenian churches of Tbilisi, Batumi, Javakheti, the celebrant priests spoke a sermon about the message of the day during the church services. Following the conclusion of the Liturgy, the assembled faithful took lit candles and lamps home symbolizing the divine light and the blessing of the Church.

On December 28, 2015, the Head of the State Agency for Religious Issues, Zaza Vashakmadze, received the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, in the Chancellery of the Government of Georgia. During the meeting both sides discussed topics for the coming year (2016) and issues of mutual cooperation.

On 26-27 December, 2015, the “Connoisseur Club” of Georgia (the President, Artak Ayvazyan) hosted two days of intense competition. The tournament lasted for three months and involved many new teams. Meetings were held almost every Saturday. Teams such as “Vaspurakan” (leader David Kharazov), “Matyan Gund” (leader Karen Hovhannisyan), “Cilicia” (leader Hrachia Surmalyan), “Urartu”(leader Harutyun Iritsyan), “Aliq Media”(leader Arsen Kharatyan) participated in the tournament season of 2015.

On December 26, 2015, the yard of Surb Khach(Holy Cross) Church in Akhalkalaki of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia was crowded with children, who came to attend Christmas and New Year’s Eve upcoming concert and exhibition. The event was hosted by Harutyun Karakhanyan and Anahit Barbaryan, the members of youth union at the Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka's General Prelacy of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia.
