The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia Visited the Surb Prkich (St. Saviour) Church in Batumi PDF Print E-mail

On December 5-6, 2015, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan in the company of the diocese officials paid a visit to Batumi. The guests from Tbilisi were welcomed at the Surb Prkich Church by Rev. Father Ararat Gumbalyan, Pastor of Armenian community in Adjara, Guria and Imereti, the Head of the newly renovated Educational-Cultural Center named after Alexander Mantashev, Sona Hovhannisyan, together with the staff.

“Libretto for the Desert” by Sona Van Was Presented at the Hayartun Center PDF Print E-mail

On December 2, 2015, the collection of poems “Libretto for the Desert” by Sona Van, exclusively dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, was presented at the Hayartun Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. The author of many collections of poems, Armenian American poet, whose works are translated into dozens of languages, attended the event.

On November 29, 2015, at the initiative of the Youth Department (Director – Valery Badalyan) and the Educational Department ( Director – Eugenia Markosyan) of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, under the direction of a teacher of Armenian history, Revik Karapetyan and accompanied by the Coordinator of the Youth Activities of the Department, Nina Seropova, students of the diocesan one-day Armenian schools, young activists of the Youth Department and interested students received another tour of the Armenian cultural footprints in Tbilisi.

Bow to the Memory of Gayane Khachaturyan PDF Print E-mail

An exhibition named “Gayane Is With Us…” dedicated to the memory of born into an Armenian family in Tbilisi, talented artist Gayane Khachaturyan, opened in the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, on November 28, 2015. The event was held on the initiative of the Hayartun Center and the Union of Armenian Artists of Georgia, with the support of the “SHEN” Association. Though Gayane is not physically present, she is with us in spirit, through her oil paintings and graphic works, her photos taken in different years, her speeches and thoughts from dedicated to the talented artist TV programs that were heard in the hall. This was the purpose of the exhibition.
