Delegation of the Department of Youth Affairs Participated in AGBU General Assembly PDF Print E-mail

From 1 to 3 April 2015 the AGBU 88th General Assembly was held in Yerevan. More than 150 delegations from different countries took part in this event. The delegation of the Department of Youth Affairs of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia was represented by its director Valery Badalyan, coordinator Nina Seropova, president of Young Diplomats’ Club of Georgia, Giorgi Tumasyan, translator Marina Sargsyan and department members Revik Karapetyan and Sergey Najarov. His Grace Bishop Bagrat Galstyan, Chief of the RA President’s Administration, Vigen Sargsyan, AGBU president Berge Setrakian, founder of TUMO center Sam Simonian and Armenian great benefactor Ruben Vardanyan were among honored guests.

On March 28, 2015 the Department of Youth Affairs arranged a meeting with Armenian students from different universities of Georgia in Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the Hayartun Center. The meeting was attended by the director of the Department of Youth Affairs, Valeri Badalian and the president of Young Diplomats’ Club of Georgia, Giorgi Tumasyan.

Easter Celebration in the Armenian Diocese PDF Print E-mail

On April 5, 2015 the churches of the Armenian Diocese in Tbilisi, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Marneuli and Batumi solemnly celebrated Easter according to the Armenian Church canons and rites. The Saint Etchmiadzin church in Avlabari and nearby territories was crowded. Many community officials, artists and educational workers attended the event.

Candlelight Divine Liturgy in the Armenian Church PDF Print E-mail

On April 4, 2014 the Primate of the Armenian Diocese, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan conducted a Candlelight Divine Liturgy on Easter Eve in the Saint Etchmiadzin Church, Tbilisi. Rev. Fr. Ter-Samvel Torosyan announced the Glorious Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and read the message from His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.

With the ringing of the bells and singing of hymns, the clergy offered a Home Blessing Service in the headquarters of the “Hayartun” Cultural, Educational and Youth Center. The Primate of the Diocese congratulated everyone on Easter. People were visiting the church until midnight.

Heirs of the Armenian Genocide Survivors in Georgia PDF Print E-mail

On April 4, 2015 a photography exhibition “Heirs of the Armenian GenocideSurvivors” dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was held in the Hayartun Center. The exhibition was organized at the initiative of the photographer Sergey Fidanyan, with the support of the Hayartun center and the Armenian Diocese. The photographs were provided with backgroundstories of the survivors, who found shelter in Georgia (in Armenian, Georgian and Russian), telling the stories of 34 heirs of the Armenian Genocide survivors.
