October 12 of the current year was remarkable with the commemoration of the poetry of Viktor Hovsepyan, who was a talented son of this country. The celebration took place in Heshtia village of Ninotsminda region. Guests had arrived from Tbilisi, as well as from Akhalkalak, Ninotsminda, Akhaltsikhe regions and villages to absorb and interact with his human and universal, lyrical and patriotic, meditative and philosophical widely creative world. A member of Georgia Parliament Henzel Mkoyan, Ninotsminda Regional Department President Gagik Karslyan, People’s Assembly President Smbat Kyureghyan, Gevorg Snkhchyan - President of Armenian writers’ union in Georgia, called “Vernatun”, the leader of the cultural and youth center “Hayartun” at Armenian Diocese in Georgia Levon Chidilyan, Press Archive at Armenian Diocese in Georgia Susanna Khachatryan, director of “Hary Davtyan” Puppet Theatre Zhanna Davtyan and others bowed to the memory of Viktor Hovsepyan.

According to the 2014 calendar of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, October 11 is the commemoration day of Holy Teachers and Translators and their pupils. This national and church holiday was celebrated with different events at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. Divine Liturgy, devoted to Holy Translators’ day, was conducted in Tbilisi St. Echmiadzin Church early in the morning. Believers listened to the sermon on the meaning of the day, read by the officiating priest at Akhlatskha St. Gregory the Illuminator Church, spiritual shepherd Senior Priest Yeghishe Harutyunyan, who valued the role of St. Mesrop Mashtots, Sahak Partev and their pupils in the creation of the Armenian alphabet, in the preservation of the nation and in the strengthening of faith.

On October 5 of the current year, the activists of the Youth Department at Armenian Diocese in Georgia spent their day in the nature. Early in the morning more than sixty boys and girls, accompanied by the director of Youth Department at Armenian Diocese in Georgia and other employees, headed to Kojori by buses to spend their Sunday in the scenic fall woods of this place.

From October 4 to 6 inclusive there were organized charity concerts in Armenian localities of Georgia, in the cultural centers of Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda regions, as well as in Daragyugh village of Tsalka region. These charity concerts, devoted to the 23rd anniversary of the Independence of Armenia, were the initiative of the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs of RA, and were supported by the local communities. The winners of the project “National Voice” on “Shant” channel of RA and the participants of the contest “Duduk chosen” were participating in the concerts.
