The business trip of the young Armenians to Bolnis-Khachen became the first feedback to the “Young Leaders’ Training Courses” recently organized in Tserovani. The visit was offered by a participant from Bolnis-Khachen, and was supported by the Department of the Youth Affairs in the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia.

Young leaders’ training course” was organized in August of the current year by the Armenian community in Georgia. The training was organized with the initiative of the Department of the Youth Affairs in the Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia (Head of the department – Valeri Badalyan). The training was sponsored by the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of RA and supported by Galoust Gyulbenkyan foundation. Young people from the capital, as well as different Armenian localities of Qvemo Qartli and Ajaria took part in the project. The project was carried out in a Catholic church complex, in Tserovani suburban town.

Discrimination against Religious Minorities in Georgia Discussed at the UN Human Rights Committee in Geneva PDF Print E-mail

On July 7-14, 2014, Mr. Levon Isakhanyan, on behalf of the Apostolic Administration of Roman Catholic of South Caucasus, the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Georgia, and the Evangelical Baptist Churches in Georgia, participated in a UN Human Rights Committee session in Geneva, Switzerland. At its 111th Session, the Committee considered a report on the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights in Georgia, which is available on the Committee’s website. Mr. Isakhanyan also presented information concerning religious minorities in Georgia and talked about documented cases of discrimination missing from the Georgian State Report (click to watch the video).
