The International Children’s Day was celebrated with beautiful and joyful performances in the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. Having conducted the Sunday Divine Liturgy the yard of Surb Etchmiadzin Church in Tbiliisi was overcrowded by parents and their children of different ages and ethnicities.

There are two one-day schools at the Hayartun Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, where people starting from 10 years of age can learn Armenian language, history and learn more about the Armenian Church. This is a two-year learning course. Many Armenians irrespective of age who have strayed far from their roots gain here an opportunity to study mother tongue.

From May 16 to 27, 2014 the NGO New Economic School Georgia organized a cycle of lectures entitled What Enhances and What Stops Economic Development, with the assistance of the Fridrich Naumann Foundation (Germany) and the University of Georgia. The young activists from the Hayartun Cultural Educational and Youth Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia showed great interest in the open lectures.

On May 28, 2014, Public Defender (Ombudsman) of Georgia presented the 2013 Parliamentary Report on the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms in Georgia to representatives of civil society and diplomatic missions accredited in Georgia. Public Defender highlighted tendencies and priorities in the field of human rights covered in the 2013 Report and provided a brief overview of series of major recommendations for various branches of government.
