On December 7, 2016, a requiem mass was performed for the peace of souls of the victims of 1988 December 7th disastrous earthquake in the northern region of the Armenian Republic.

On December 6, 2016, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Metropolitan Nikoloz Pachuashvili of Akhalkalaki and Kumurdo Diocese (Georgian Orthodox Church). He was accompanied by Very Rev. Fr. Babken Salbiyan, the Prelate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka's General Prelacy of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia.

RA Ministry of Diaspora, similar to previous years, again provided assistance to the Armenian communities of Georgia, including the Alexander Mantashev Educational Cultural and Youth Center in Batumi. The Ministry has purchased audiovisual equipment for the Center, like loudspeakers, computer, printer and other equipment.

On November 29, 2016, the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the “Hayartun” Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted a general meeting. It was attended by the diocese officials and clergy. The meeting was dedicated to visit of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan to the Unites States, within the framework of the autumn meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Council, as well as to celebrate the fact that Hayartun Facebook Page reached the 10,000 fans milestone.
