On January 12, 2017, a large number of people gathered in Tbilisi State Drama Theatre after Petros Adamyan, where the body of famous poetess and translator Anahit Bostanjyan, who had died suddenly a few days ago, was brought. Her voice heard in the hall encouraged everyone to love the mother tongue and the Homeland, to be dedicated to strengthening of the friendship between nations.

On January 10, 2017, four major halls of the Georgian National Museum Dimitry Shevardnadze National Gallery hosted the exhibition showcasing 96 artworks of a talented artist, Alexander Bazhbeuk-Melikov. It was the first exhibition of the prominent painter’s artworks in Tbilisi. The exhibition was organized by the National Gallery in Tbilisi; a talented painter, Irena Ohanjanova, President of the Union of Armenian Painters of Georgia, planned and coordinated the event, which was dedicated to the 125th birthday anniversary and to the 50th years since the artist passed away.

On January 6, 2017, on the Feast of the Holy Nativity and Theophany of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Rev. Father Ararat Gumbalyan, Pastor of Armenian community in Adjara, Guria and Imereti; with the participation of the clergy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Surb Prkich (Saint Savior) Church in Batumi. Hundreds gathered at the church to partake in the Holy Communion of Christmas. The good news: “Christ is born and revealed, great tidings to us all!”- were on everyone’s lips.

On the occasion of the first major feast of 2017, the Feast of Nativity and Theophany of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Divine Liturgy was held in the churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. On the evening of January 5th, a Candlelight Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the Cathedral of Saint George and the Saint Etchmiadzin Church in Tbilisi.
