On October 8, 2016, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church celebrated the Feast of the Holy Translators. It is one of the most favorite and beloved feasts for the Armenian people.

On October 2, 2016, the Calouste Gulbenkian hall of the Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted a lecture entitled “A Comparison of Beliefs between the Armenian Apostolic and Orthodox Churches”, which was delivered by Rev. Fr. Narek Ghushyan, Dean of the Cathedral of Saint George of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia.

The 2016 “My Armenia” Pan-Armenian festival organized by the RA Ministry of Diaspora was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia. The creative groups of the Hayartun Center (Director - Levon Chidilyan) this year also participated in the events within the framework of the festival with great enthusiasm. The Saint Nerses Shnorhali Youth Vocal Ensemble (Choirmaster - Maria Abulyan, Piano – Karen Mirzoyan), the Taron Dance Group (Choreographer - Suren Abramyan) properly demonstrated in Armenia successes they have achieved in preservation and development of the national culture.

At the invitation of the President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili and Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, on September 30, 2016, the Pope arrived in Georgia. The Armenian Diocese in Georgia brought its participation in the events on the occasion of the Pontiff’s two-day visit to Georgia.
