On September 24, 2016, the Commemoration of St. Gevorg the Captain was solemnly celebrated in the churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia.

Holiday spirit prevailed at the Saint George Cathedral in Tbilisi, which was built in honor of the saint in the 13th century. Because of their special reverence for St. George, the faithful came to attend the church service on this occasion. The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan presided over the Divine Liturgy.

On September 21, 2016, a Prayer for the Republic was offered in all the churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. The Diocesan Primate, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan presided over the service in the Cathedral of Saint George in Tbilisi.
