On September 18, 2016, the Galouste Gyulbenkyan Hall of the Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted the film “The Gracious, Fair, Honorable” presentation, devoted to the 170th anniversary of the birth of an Armenian gusan (bard) Jivani. Rita Sharoyan is the film writer and producer, Armen Ronov-Mkrtchyan is the film director.

On September 15, 2016, the new 2016/17 academic year started in all educational institutions of Georgia. The first bell announcing the beginning of the studies rang also in Tbilisi’s and Georgia’s regional Armenian Schools. Currently, there are more than 130 educational institutions in Georgia teaching in Armenian, with 13 900 students studying there.

On September 13, 2016, the 2016/17 academic year started in the “Saint Movses Khorenatsi” Preschool of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. From the morning, a festive mood and liveliness prevailed in Tbilisi’s Saint Etchmiadzin Church courtyard. 40 Armenian children had gathered with their parents holding colorful flowers in their hands to participate in a Morning Service.

From September 7 to 9, 2016, with blessings from His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, at the initiative of the Department of Youth Affairs of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia and with the support of the Diocesan Headquarters, Georgian-Armenian Young leaders’ training course was organized. Young people from the capital, as well as different Armenian localities of Kvemo Kartli and Ajara took part in the project. The project was carried out in a Catholic Church complex, in Tserovani suburban town.
