Jan-Gyulum Feast in the Hayartun Center PDF Print E-mail

The Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ that the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated on May 14 is usually accompanied by the “Jan-Gyulum” national feast. This year the “Jan-Gyulum” was celebrated on May 17, 2015 in Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the Hayartun Center. One of the teachers from the Saint Movses Khorenatsi Preschool, Oksana Sharoyan, participated in the preparation. Thanks to her efforts the feast preserved its traditional specificities.

Georgian Edition of the Book “The Armenian Genocide” PDF Print E-mail

On May 16, 2015, the presentation of the Georgian edition of “The Armenian Genocide” book by Ruben Sahakyan (Head of the Department of New Ages, Institute of History at the RA National Academy of Sciences) took place in Tbilisi Marriott Hotel. On this occasion the Director of the Institute of History at the RA National Academy of Sciences and the author of the book attended the event, together with the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Georgian MP Ruslan Poghosyan, Counselor from the RA Embassy in Georgia, Karen Melikyan, high-ranking representatives of the clergy from sister churches, public figures, politicians, scientists, historians, NGO heads, representatives of Greek, Assyrian, Ukrainian, Ossetian, Bulgarian, Latvian and other communities.

“A Hundred Years Later: The Genocide as Seen through My Eyes” Exhibition in the Hayartun Center PDF Print E-mail

On May 15, 2015 the Hayartun Center hosted the exhibition entitled “A Hundred Years Later: The Genocide as Seen through My Eyes” dedicated to the centennial of the Armenian Genocide. The exhibition initiated by the Youth Department included original works of art – paintings, photographs, handmade items, compositions related to the theme of the genocide and revival of the Armenian nation.

Physicians Club – the First Step of Compassion PDF Print E-mail

On May 12, 2015, at the initiative of the Hayartun Center’s Youth Department, the students from Georgia’s different medical universities were invited to the center. The purpose of the meeting was to gather the students of Armenian origin around the Diocese and the Hayartun Center. The Coordinator of Activities, Nina Seropova briefed the students on the Hayartun Center’s main activities, plans and projects of the Youth Department related to the healthcare and displaying compassion. She suggested establishing the Physicians' Club in order to give its members more opportunities (internships, close communication with patients etc.). The students were very enthusiastic and welcomed the suggestion.
