On May 14, 2015, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church celebrated the Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the relocation of the Patriarchal See from the city of Sis to Vagharshapat. On this occasion, the clergy of the Saint Etchmiadzin church conducted the Divine Liturgy in Tbilisi.

This was the title of the open lesson of the “Hayartun” Center’s recitation class dedicated to the centennial of the Armenian Genocide. On May 12, 2015, during the literary and musical concert held in Calouste Gulbenkian Hall, thirteen Armenian students through their recitation presented the horror of the days, when one and a half million Armenians were killed. Thanks to the efforts of their teacher, Samvel Elbakyan (Actor, Petros Adamian Tbilisi State Armenian Drama Theatre), during their touching speeches the participants of the concert told about the genocide horrifying days, the massacres of innocent children, women and elderly, the actions of the Janissaries intended to destroy Armenian intelligentsia. The scenes were accompanied by the live classical music performances by Aida Bazoyan.

A memorial evening was held in the cultural relations center, “Caucasian House", dedicated to The Tamamshev family, well-known since the second half of the 19th century for its charity activities. The event was initiated by a member of the Center, Victoria Maksoeva. Guests were also able to view an exhibition of the paintings by the famous artist, Tengiz Mikoyan. The director of the Gary Davtyan Puppet and Culture House, Zhanna Davtyan, introduced the installation in the spirit of the 19th century. Alexander Tamamshev’s granddaughter Natalia Tamamsheva attended the event.
