To hold an open day twice a year at Gary Davtyan Puppet and Culture House has become a tradition, dedicated to the memory of deceased puppeteer and master Gary Davtyan. And this time the tradition was observed. On January 8 an open day was held at Gary Davtyan Puppet and Culture House.

January 20, 2014 was marked in the history of the Armenian community of Georgia with the birth of the Armenian-language newspaper Ardzagank. That day the first issue of informative newspaper of the community was published, which is designed to become the publication about community life, intended for a general audience. The materials, published in this issue, testify the dynamism of Armenian community of Georgia. Ardzagank newspaper’s mission is to become the mirror of life of Armenian community, to inform the mass media about the spiritual life of Armenian community and developments in the field of inter-religious relations, to show all shifts in social and political life, to tell about the historical role of Armenian community of Georgia, different aspects of Armenian-Georgian relations, news of Armenian Diaspora, progress and challenges of the Armenian people.

On January 18, at the initiative of the Association of Armenian Women in Georgia “Shushanik”, Gary Davtyan Puppet and Culture House hosted a meeting with the members of the Council of Women of Georgia. The meeting was dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the above mentioned organization. The meeting, which was held within the framework of the anniversary, was attended by Chairperson of the Council of Women of Georgia, Academician Mzekala Shanidze, Deputy Chairman Ketevan Gabruashvili, Chairperson of the Council of Women of Abkhazia Roza Kukhalashvili, other members of the council, as well as Alla Bezhentseva from the Russian community of Georgia, Valentina Marjanishvili from the Ukrainian community, Lili Safarova from the Kurdish community. Zhanna Davtyan, Headmistress of Gary Davtyan Puppet and Culture House, with her daughter and the members of the Association of Armenian Women in Georgia “Shushanik” welcomed the guests in the cultural house.

On January 6, on the Feast of the Holy Nativity and Theophany of our Lord Jesus Christ the Immortal and Divine Liturgy was celebrated at all operating churches of Javakheti.
The Vicar-General of Javakhk Supreme Archimandrite Babken Salbiyan conducted a divine service at Surb Khach Church in Akhalkalaki.

On January 5, during a solemn Candlelight Divine Liturgy, and on January 6, on the Liturgy in memoryof the Holy Nativity, all the altars of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church brought the good tidings of the Holy Nativity and Theopathy of our Lord Jesus Christ. Spiritual shepherd of Armenians in Adjara, Guria and Imereti, Priest Ararat Gumbalyan celebrated the festive Divine Liturgy at Surb Prkich Church in Batumi.
