On the 14th of September, 2013, at Surb Etchmiadzin Church in Tbilisi of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia the blessing ceremony of the new academic year at one-day diocesan schools of Armenian language was conducted. The first and second year students of schools named after St. Gregory Narekatsi and St.Prophet Eghia, their parents and guests gathered in the church.

On September 6-8, 2013 the 15th anniversary Congress of Forum of Armenian Associations of Europe took place in Bratislava. In addition to thecoordination of activities for the upcoming 100thAnniversaryof the Armenian Genocide, the forum discussed the issue of neutralizing theAzerbaijani-Turkish lobbying that has intensifiedin recent years. Forum of Armenian Associations of Europe for the first time discussed thedomestic situation in Armenia. It was proposedat the conference for the first timeto create a unionof the Armenianprofessionalofficers andveterans, who have servedin different countries, witha view of their further service to enhance homeland security. Delegationsfrom 25 European countries, as well as variousguests attended the conference.

Once Again the Songs of Gusan Havasi Sounded in Ayazma Village of Tsalka Region PDF Print E-mail

On the 8th of September, in the picturesque village of Ayazma in Tsalka region once again the festival of ashik songs was held. A holiday on the field, in the open, which has already become a tradition, was devoted and paid tribute to the native of the village – gusan Havasi (Armenak Parsami Markosyan). Gusan Havasi was born in 1896 , in Ayazma village of Tsalka region, in a family of a landless peasant. His father Parsam was a famous ashik and storyteller in the village, who noticed in Armenak the presence of vocal talent and ability to sing and decided to send him to study under ashik. Already twelve-year-old Armenak along with the local ashiks toured the villages of the region and gained love and acceptance.

On the 8th of September, 2013, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan sanctified Surb Astvatsatsin Church ("Holy Mother of God") in Small Daghet Village of Tetritskaro Region in Georgia.
