On July 30, 2017, the students of the “Hayordats Tun” Armenian School of Gyumri arrived in Tbilisi for a three-day visit. The purpose of the visit was to let the teenagers from Armenia know about the Armenian traces in Tbilisi, to establish a dialogue between the students of the “Hayartun” Center (Armenian Diocese in Georgia) and the students of the “Hayordats Tun” Armenian School of Gyumri. The “Hayordats Tun” Armenian School of Gyumri, established only three years ago, was opened with the blessing of His Holiness Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians and operates under the subordination of Rev. Fr. Vardan Navasardyan, Director of the Christian Education Center of Mother See.

A Group of Young Armenians from Tbilisi Spent Their Summer Vacation in the Scout Camp PDF Print E-mail

This year as well a group of young Armenians from Tbilisi decided to spend two weeks of their summer vacation in the scout camp, located near the Lermontov village in the Lori region in Armenia. This is now the tenth year the camp has been organized within the framework of the AGBU youth projects. For the past years, young Armenians of Tbilisi have been participating in the scout camps with pleasure and preferred to spend their summer vacation in the valley.

This is not the first time that the Alexander Mantashev Educational Cultural and Youth Center in Batumi (adjunct to the Surb Prkich (Saint Savior) Church) has initiated and implemented religious, cultural and community events, which gather almost all the members of the Armenian community in Batumi. Preservation of Armenian culture and traditions is a guideline for the Center, which has broadened the scope of its activities and hosts many festive events.

Georgian-Armenian Youth Spent Their Summer Vacation in Armenia within “Ari Tun” Program PDF Print E-mail

Like in previous years, the Department of Youth Affairs of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia (Director: Valery Badalyan) actively participated in the “Ari Tun” Program organized by the RA Ministry of Diaspora for Diaspora Armenian youth’s homeland recognition, in 2017. Ninety six young Armenians, including 60 from Tbilisi, 20 from Marneuli regions and 16 from Bolnisi region, participated in three stages of the program, from June 25 to August 5.

On July 20, 2017, an event commemorating poetess, writer and translator Anahit Bostanjyan, who passed away unexpectedly, was held within the framework of the “Diverse Georgia” project of the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia. The event was organized by G. Leonidze State Museum of Georgian Literature. The project in Akhalkalaki is being implemented for the second time.
